Beschreibung
The circular route is tarred on one section, the rest of the way is natural. It is possible to use a wheelchair from the kiosk to the dam wall, along the Dorint Hotel. This route is the smallest of the 3 Nordic Walking trails at the Bitburg reservoir and leads once around the Bitburg reservoir.
It is marked with a blue arrow.
The signposting of the parcous is subdivided by colour: blue for the short route, red for the medium route and black for the long route.
At the starting point there is a large sign giving an overview of the courses and the basic movements of Nordic Walking.
The reservoir near Biersdorf, located in the scenic valley of the Prüm, is the tourist centre of the southern Eifel. The 35-hectare reservoir offers a variety of leisure activities such as pedal boating, rowing, paddling and fishing. A special attraction is the fountain in the middle of the lake, which can be seen in summer. The approximately five-kilometre-long lakeside promenade invites you to take a stroll. Several inns, restaurants and cafés are located in the immediate vicinity.
