The St. Martin Spring is a sodium-calcium-hydrogen-carbonate acidulous water and was formerly classified as medicinal water.
The circular route is tarred on one section, the rest of the way is natural. It is possible to use a wheelchair from the kiosk to the dam wall, along the Dorint Hotel. This route is the smallest of the 3 Nordic Walking trails at the Bitburg reservoir and leads once around the Bitburg reservoir.

In one of the most beautiful places in the volcanic Eifel, surrounded by the geologically special landscape of the Daun Maars, lies our holiday home "Schöner Maarblick" in a green hillside location, with a fantastic view of the Schalkenmehren Maar. With a view of the Maar, you can enjoy breakfast and the morning on the east terrace, the south terrace offers sun until the evening hours. A fireplace with firewood belongs to the Maarblick terrace. Both terraces are equipped with garden furniture, sun loungers are available in the spacious garden, where there is also a spacious barbecue area. In both bedrooms you lie in high-quality double box-spring beds, the shower room has towels, hairdryer and make-up mirror, the kitchen is fully equipped. The dining room and living room are flooded with light and lovingly furnished, you can also enjoy the view of the Maar from the living room. In a separate washingroom you can use a washingmaschine and a dryer, 5€ every use.
With their fine proboscises, colourful butterflies sip juice from a sliced pineapple. Then the gentle creatures waft away into the foliage of the plants in the butterfly house.
Mosbrucher Pond The Mosbrucher pond is framed by agriculturally used area of the neighbouring communities. In the areas of undisturbed marshland development, the peat thickness is up to 6 metres, on top of which a varied mosaic of different marshland communities can be found.
