Zwitschernde Vielfalt – Vögel in Wald und Wasserlandschaft

Stolberg

Open today
Before you see them, you hear them: the diversity of birds at Omerbach.

Here, forest meets water, and this combination creates an astonishing variety of bird species. The Mountain Wagtail and the Dipper follow the course of the stream, while in the trees, you can hear the song of the Brambling, Woodpecker, or Wren. Even over the open meadows, the Buzzard and Kite are circling.

However, this diversity needs space: old trees, clear streams, and undisturbed forest edges are the foundation for so many species to thrive here. The Omerbach Valley Nature Reserve preserves this special landscape – and maintains a habitat that changes throughout the year. Thus, a unique soundscape is created in every season.

Tip: Listen closely. How many different voices can you distinguish? Particularly early in the morning, the concert is most impressive.

Impressions

  • Two people are hiking on a narrow path through the forest. Next to the path, a small stream flows and nature is green and inviting.
