Aremberg
Aremberg, picturesquely nestled in the hills of the Ahrgebirge, invites hikers and visitors on a journey through nature and history. The history of Aremberg dates back to 893, when the village was first mentioned in a document. Over the centuries, the town transformed from an important seat of power of the Arenberg family to a small but lively village. The striking volcanic mountain, which gave the region its name, still dominates the landscape today and tells of the past of this former strategic location.
To this day, ruins, historic buildings and memories of the once powerful Arenberg family bear witness to a past that is closely interwoven with the history of the region.
