The Schalkenmehren maar is the largest of the three Daun maars. Here, you can not only enjoy nature and the fresh air during your walk, but can also cool off in the maar. You also have the option of fishing and exploring the maar by boat.

Carefree and relaxing hours await at the Schalkenmehrener Maar natural swimming pool. A baby pool with sun protection and benches for parents is available for the youngest guests. A fenced toddler pool with a maximum water depth of about 100 cm provides safe fun. A diving board and a water slide, added in 2016, offer action for active swimmers.

The large, elongated lawn provides plenty of lounging spots and ample shade to enjoy the special atmosphere of the Maar in peace.

A modern sanitary building with changing and shower facilities is available.

The kiosk offers a wide range of food, ice cream, and drinks on the cozy terrace for both small and big appetites.

Bathing season is from May to September, depending on the weather.

The use of watercraft of any kind, such as stand-up paddles (SUPs) or other floating devices, is unfortunately not permitted on the Dauner Maaren and the Pulvermaar by order of the Lower Nature Conservation Authority of the Vulkaneifel district.
