The local community Arft with its approximately 250 inhabitants is idyllically situated in the middle of an original heath landscape. The highest point is the Raßberg with 668 m above sea level. NN, at the foot of which is a small ski area. The Arfter Bach, one of the Nette's two source rivers, originates here. In addition to the eponymous town, there is the smaller district of Netterhöfe.
KOMM (derived from the word "communication") is a place for art, culture, music and encounters in Düren. The socio-cultural center is located in the old Pleußmühle, which can be recognized by its striking brick façade and the large water wheel at August-Klotzstr. 21 (just a 5-minute walk from the city center). Located directly on the mill stream, the water wheel produces green electricity for the Düren public utility company, while the KOMM "produces" culture.
