Wood has always played a special role in Zweifall – it shapes the place, the craftsmanship, and the lives of the people to this day. The hike around Zweifall shows that wood has always been more than just a raw material here. Many families lived directly or indirectly from the timber industry for generations.
With technological progress, the use changed: from craftsmanship to industrial production, from small workshops to companies. Yet the significance of the material remained – and is still visible today in old half-timbered houses, doors, roofs, and furniture that carry the history of the village forward.
