Römerkanal-Wanderweg

Hiking in the footsteps of Roman water engineers from Nettersheim to Cologne

The “Römerkanal-Wanderweg” from Nettersheim to Cologne is 116 km long. The ancient canal is an engineering masterpiece by the Romans and crosses valleys and cuts through mountains for 96 km. Around 2,000 years ago, the canal was used to supply Cologne with clear and soft Eifel water.

In seven stages, the Römerkanal-Wanderweg leads along the ancient water pipeline past several Roman relics.
