The 5th Advent Gathering in Stadtkyll will take place on Saturday, November 28, 2026, starting at 3:00 p.m. on the church square in Stadtkyll. As is tradition, waffles, sausages, and a variety of hot and cold beverages will be available for all ages. New this year: homemade daycare punch. There will also be a small Advent bazaar in the parish hall featuring regional crafts and the new daycare cookbook for sale at a special price. At 5:00 p.m., the Christmas tree will be decorated together with the daycare children, with the participation of the Stadtkyll Music Association. All proceeds will benefit the Friends of St. Josef Daycare in Stadtkyll.

The Festive Harmony of the Advent Season

As the days grow shorter once again, it’s time for another enlightening guided tour of a special kind at the Romans’ nearly 2,000-year-old tuff quarry: Equipped with torches, participants set out with a tour guide on a journey of discovery through the nearly 2,000-year-old tunnel system and the ancient engineering wonders in the outdoor area. In the cozy glow of torches, fire baskets, and oil lamps, amid tuff columns and Roman engineering, Roman history seems to come alive on this evening. The evening concludes with mulled wine or children’s punch and Christmas cookies.

On Saturday, November 28, 2026, the Verbandsgemeinde Maifeld invites you to the Advent concert "Wishes and Thoughts" with the duo ›con emozione‹ at St. Alban parish church in Naunheim at 6 p.m. Soprano Liane Fietzke and pianist Norbert Fietzke will prepare the audience for the reflective season with winter, Advent, and Christmas songs. Admission is 12 euros. Doors open at 5 p.m.
