The Schönecker egg collection is one of the oldest remaining egg collecting customs in Germany. This exciting competition between gatherers and runners has been held annually in the Burgflecken for several centuries in nearly unchanged form.

The Eifelverein OG Wittlich invites you to a guided trip with a hike on Easter Monday. "Theme: Trip by bus to Eschfeld in the East Eifel near the Luxembourg border". The impressive abbey church forms the heart of the Maria Laach monastery complex and is considered one of the most beautiful and best-preserved Romanesque monuments in the country - in the tradition of the great Romanesque cathedrals in Speyer, Mainz and Worms in the Rhineland. The church is decoratively built from brown-yellow Laach tuff, white limestone and red Kylls sandstone.
