Lamawanderung Teamausflug (halbtägig)

eifelnomaden

10:00 AM

This day belongs to you as a team! Forget about the stress of everyday life and enjoy being outdoors together with the peaceful and curious llamas, which you always lead in pairs. Your four-hour trekking (with a guide) takes you through the forests and over the meadows in the nature reserve "Schönecker Schweiz".

Hiking

Look forward to a varied and unforgettable hike as a team! Enjoy the time outdoors, far away from the desk and the everyday routine. Experience nature together with the fluffy llamas that you will lead as a pair. Even if you usually have little contact with animals: You will surely quickly fall in love with these peaceful and curious creatures with their big round eyes. Llamas are very easy to lead since they are herd animals. This way, you will have enough time to chat and enjoy the day during the hike (and of course during breaks).

Your tour begins and ends directly below the ruins of Schönecken Castle on the pasture of the Eifel nomads. After a lively introduction where you get to know the llamas and learn how to lead one, you will start your hike into the nature reserve together with your guide.

The Schönecker Schweiz is a little-known but incredibly diverse nature reserve in the southern Eifel. It is characterized by deeply carved valleys with clear brooks and wide plateaus. Rare orchids bloom on the valley slopes, and slender junipers grow. By the way, it is named after the gentian, which grows here just like in the Alps. In the beech forests, the ground in spring is a carpet of flowers made up of snowdrops and wild garlic. In summer, the broom shines bright. Narrow hiking paths wind through the area, where you rarely encounter other people.

Right at the start, we hike down into the valley of the Altburgbach. Orchard meadows and the slender silhouettes of the juniper bushes accompany us. Then we climb the ridge "Op Ischt" and enjoy the wide views from the plateau. Later, we dive into the beech forest and arrive at a hidden clearing where we take our first break. Above the Schalkenbach, we continue through the forest on narrow paths. Finally, we reach the ancient Celtic refuge that sits atop steep rocks above the Altburgbach. Here we take another short rest and have ample time to photograph ourselves with the llamas. Then we must make our way down into the valley via a narrow path from the rocky spur. Following the Altburgbach, we return to our starting point after about four hours.
