Lama Vollmondwanderung (Gruppentour)

eifelnomaden

3/1/26
2:30 PM

In the Schönaker Switzerland, special llama hikes take place on full moon nights: Llamas walking silently, the dark shadows of the hikers, an occasional soft bird call - and above all, the full moon shines. We are out in the nocturnal nature for about three hours.

Hike

Night hikers can look forward to the first full moon hike at the beginning of spring at the end of March. We will also walk with the llamas through the night at the harvest moon in August, the fog moon in November, and the Yule moon in December just before Christmas, letting the moonlight illuminate our path.

A night hike is an almost mystical experience, even if we cannot guarantee the appearance of the full moon. If the moon is visible in the sky, it bathes nature in a silvery light, casting shadows of trees, llamas, and ourselves. Once our eyes have adjusted to the darkness, we not only recognize our path but can see almost as clearly as during the day. Our other senses are heightened - we hear and even smell much more intensely.

The hiking route depends on the weather and visibility, leading from our llama pasture below Schönecken Castle right into the Schönecker Schweiz Nature Reserve. At first, we descend to the Altburgbach and climb the opposite shoulder. From there, we enjoy a wide view over the hills by moonlight. Passing by elegant junipers and orchards, we return to our pasture. Here we must say goodbye to our loyal companions, the llamas.
