After the premiere of Massenet's Manon at the Royal Opera House Covent Garden, Die Presse praised "the inspired selection of locations" – the famous gray Parisian rooftops, dark interiors, majestic churches, and sparkling casinos. And although it tends to be a tragic opera, the director succeeds in highlighting its comedic aspects. A showcase role for Nadine Sierra in this passionate drama.
