Guided tours to the volcanic lakes of the Eifel - Today's Maar: Sangweiher
The Sangweiher is located directly on the Maare-Mosel cycle path, between Schalkenmehren in the north and Udler in the south. It is a shallow dammed water body with adjacent wetland biotopes and meadow areas. The area of the Sangweiher is considered to be a relict of a former maar. Due to its supra-regional importance, especially for waterfowl and migratory birds, the Sangweiher and its adjacent areas have been included in the European Natura 2000 system of protected areas (bird sanctuary). Experience this small natural paradise and discover a special place!
