This tour charmingly combines mystical experiences, culinary stops, and two unique landscapes. The scenic views between the Eifel low mountain range and the valleys of the Salm and Moselle rivers fit together as harmoniously as pieces of a puzzle. The starting and ending point for the three stages is the town of Wittlich—the gateway to the Eifel and the Moselle.
The Maare-Moselle Bike Trail kicks off this varied cycling vacation: even today, you can still feel the energy that created these extraordinary places of power thousands of years ago. From Plein, the route descends at a leisurely pace; the first vineyards and the county seat of Wittlich mark the remarkable transition between the Eifel heights and the Moselle Valley.

On the second stage, through the Wittlich Valley, the route runs along the Salm and Moselle rivers, passing churches, a castle, and a mill—all historical landmarks. The final leg follows the new Eifel Pilgrimage Bike Trail. This trail connects the two impressive monastery complexes of Himmerod in the Eifel and Siebenborn on the Moselle. Along the way, numerous old churches offer opportunities to stop and rest, while historic wayside crosses and shrines invite moments of quiet reflection, accompanied by little stories that will make you smile, marvel, and reflect.
