Hike light on the Eifelsteig from Gerolstein to Trier—take the time to truly get to know nature

Every forest, every ruin, every mountain, and every view is unique. On every hike, there’s something new to discover, and you’ll open your eyes to the treasures along the way. Can you feel the volcano beneath your feet on the Dietzenley? Can you taste the breath of the volcanoes in the mineral water from the Dreesen on the Eifelsteig? As you cross the windthrow area on the Xynthia Steg, can you see the face of the storm and the destructive force with which it swept across the land?
Can you hear the little bell of the chapel at Weinfelder Maar? They say that whoever makes it ring is granted a wish.
Be brave. Take a look inside the Buchenloch Cave, formed solely by the force of groundwater. Can you still see traces of the former inhabitants in the Genoveva Cave ?
On the final kilometers of the Eifelsteig, you’ll gaze into the abyss of a dramatic rocky landscape. From the edge of the red sandstone cliffs, you’ll enjoy breathtaking views of the idyllic Moselle Valley.

This tour is available year-round. The best time to travel is from April through November. During the winter months, weather conditions may result in restrictions. Additionally, you should take the shorter days into account when planning your stage lengths.
