Our house is situated at the outskirts of the small village Roth in natural surroundings. You reach the forest in 2 min. and the section "Hillesheim-Gerolstein" of one of Germany's top hiking trails, the "Eifelsteig", runs along the house. We renovated the basement of our house in 2014/15 and established the new holiday flat "Wald und Wiese" ("Forest and Field"). It is accessible from ground level and convenient for challenged people.

Our 80sqm apartment offers an open kitchen-dining-living area, a bedroom, a bathroom and a 40sqm sun terrace with a wonderful view. There is a double bed and a crib in the bedroom and a sofa bed in the living room.

Upstairs you will find a bedroom with double bed (1.60m) that can be darkened, a small bathroom and a spacious, open-plan sleeping area (double bed 2 m) with a gallery and sofa bed (1.40 m), which is perfect for relaxing hours of reading or as an additional sleeping area. Nestled between the Moselle and Eifel, the "Glücksnest" is the ideal starting point for numerous discovery tours. Visit the historic city of Trier, the oldest city in Germany, with its impressive remains from the Roman past, such as the Porta Nigra, the basilica and the medieval cathedral. Along the Moselle, picturesque wine villages such as Bernkastel-Kues and Traben-Trabach beckon, and neighbouring Luxembourg is also worth a visit. The small village of Hetzerath has a train station, bus stop, bakery, butcher's shop, supermarket, pub with beer garden and an ice cream parlor. The surrounding area offers a wide range of leisure activities: Hiking on picturesque Eifel, Moselle or Hunsrück trails, cycling for all abilities, swimming in the outdoor pool or the natural swimming pools of the Eifelmaare.
