Runde 5 – Gravelspaß im Naturkino – Rauf aufs Rad, rein ins Rurtal

This challenging gravel tour with a varied uphill and downhill profile combines crisp climbs, wild descents and genuine Eifel moments - from the historic old town of Monschau to the enchanted tree nature trail in the Rur valley.

This tour has everything that a good gravel adventure needs: crisp climbs, fast descents and plenty of natural scenery. Between fields, tree-lined avenues and the course of the Rur, you roll through the wide open spaces around Simmerath - sometimes relaxed, sometimes challenging.

A highlight: the section on the Vennbahn with historical flair. Treat yourself to a view of Monschau Castle - preferably from the Eifelblick - and a break at the Köhlerklause with its historic sawmill on the Kluckbach.

The tree nature trail gets technical for a short while before the Rur valley scores with its calm flow. The ascent to Huppenbroich is another tough one, but after that there is nothing but undulating coasting through the greenery.

This tour is perfect for experienced gravel bikers who love nature, speed and real stories.
