RKru4 - Meurin Roman mine 8.0 km. A circular hike with a detour to the Meurin Roman mine.

Note: The route on the Korret is currently slightly altered. The detour is signposted!

Directions:

Walk down Bahnhofstraße, turn right at the traffic circle into "Alte Chaussee" and then left into Kirchstraße to the church. Walk down Kirchstraße and turn left into Hochstraße, at the end of which you will come to "Große Gasse" and keep left. Follow the street for quite a while, even when it turns into Burgasse. At the end of Burgasse, you will see a chapel at a crossroads. Follow the road "Wingertsberg" up to the Korret. At the top, keep to the right. The path takes you past the Johanneskapelle chapel in several bends up to a crossroads where there is a refuge. Take the path opposite with the barrier and follow it through a small wood to the other side of the Korrets. Once on the circular path, keep left and turn off towards Kretz at the next crossroads. Follow the path past the Zöller company, over a bridge to a crossroads. Pass this and immediately after it turn left into Hahnenwiesenweg. Follow this path along the "Krufter Bach" stream until you see a footbridge on the left. Keep right there and you will come to an underpass that leads you onto Mühlenstraße. Follow this road straight ahead, crossing Meurinstraße, until you reach the entrance to the Roman mine. After visiting the mine, walk back along Mühnestraße to the pedestrian bridge, which you take this time. On the other side, follow the road until you come to a small path on the right. Follow the path along the "Krufter Bach" stream, crossing a road in the process. At the end of the park with a small soccer pitch, keep left and then turn right onto Plaidter Weg. Follow this and then turn right into Taurengasse and then left into Bachstraße. A small alley on the right next to the town hall leads you back to the parking lot.
