Characteristic features of the former railway line appear again and again: information boards on the history of the Ahrtalbahn, old stone retaining walls with cosy niches inviting you to take a rest, the picturesque former station buildings and even an old double signal line the path.

Continuing to pedal easily, brightly coloured signs soon point to the Eifalia butterfly garden in Ahrhütte, the destination of our discovery tour. After an excursion into the fantastic world of butterflies, our path leads back along the same route via Müsch to Fuchshofen.

...and the best thing about it is: as we are now heading downhill again, it almost rolls by itself.
