New perspectives around the Zülpicher Börde - Cycling day tip "Cycle tour Bördeschleife Süd"

The Eifel is widely known for its charming tours that combine the most beautiful natural and cultural experiences with the joy of cycling. One of these enjoyable routes is the Bördeschleife Süd cycle tour, which allows you to immerse yourself in the regional diversity around the Zülpicher Börde on a wonderful circular route.

Along the way, you will encounter charming views. It's worth getting out of the saddle from time to time and enjoying the highlights along the route. Visit Hengebach Castle in Heimbach, which is also home to the International Academy of Art - or take a trip across the lake district from the Schwammenauel landing stage. As you pass the imposing red sandstone cliffs, it is also worth making a detour to the town of Nideggen with its magnificent hilltop castle. Take time to recharge your batteries along the legendary Börde landscape, where the ice age has left behind fertile soils and a high diversity of species.

Good to know: The route has a number of ascents and descents and is therefore classified as "medium" in terms of difficulty. A certain level of fitness is required. The cycle tour is also ideal for pedelecs and e-bikes.
