Until a few decades ago, slate mining shaped large parts of our region as far as the Moselle. The population in Kehrig also lived partly from work in the slate pits.

Every year before Easter, the first processions of the year come from the surrounding communities to Fraukirch near Thür in the open field. It is one of the oldest churches in the Eifel and Rhineland, based on its 1,200-year-old church tradition.
The outdoor swimming pool is located next to the Rur and surrounded by the forrest. We have a generous lawn for sunbathing. Our big pool is divided into a swimmers and non swimmers area. We also have a playground, a beach volleyball court, ping-pong tables and a basketball hoop. You can buy drinks, ice cream and other food at our kiosk. It is two walking minutest from the stopp of Rurtalbahn to us.

Our house, run and designed in a long family tradition , radiates the rustic coziness of a good parlor. The main house made of quarry stone was built in 1786 and has been constantly renovated since then. In the 1980s, the entire half-timbered house was extended and in 1998, due to the constant demand from guests, a second house with spacious rooms was added. Our house radiates a pleasant coziness , which on the one hand offers everything for business and on the other hand meets the private wishes of traveling families. Our hotel offers 31 rustic and modern furnished rooms. From Monday to Friday you can convince yourself of our cuisine. You can book our rooms for parties, weddings, private celebrations, business lunches, funeral coffees and many other events.
Our non-smoking holiday flat for 2 persons has approx. 55 sqm and is located on a former farm on the outskirts of Hupperath. From the first floor you have a wonderful view of the unique Eifel landscape. You reach the separate entrance via a metal staircase with 17 steps. The holiday home is divided into an open living, dining and cooking area, a double bedroom, a storage room and a modern bathroom with shower/WC. The kitchen is equipped with induction hob, oven, microwave, dishwasher and fridge with freezer compartment. Coffee machine, toaster, kettle and sufficient cutlery and crockery are also available, as well as a basic supply of coffee, pepper, salt, sugar and much more. In the bedroom there is a bed measuring 1.80 x 2.00 metres. Of course, the beds are made for you upon arrival. Hand and kitchen towels are also available free of charge in the bathroom and kitchen. Furthermore, the flat has free wifi access. On the large lawn next to the house you will find ample seating and sunbathing opportunities to relax and enjoy under fruit, nut and chestnut trees.
