The chapel was built in 1826. In 1906 it was embellished with a new altar and four painted windows. The latter represent the birth of Jesus and St. Family, the twelve-year-old Jesus in the temple and a new offering of thanksgiving. In the summer of 1909 a sacristy was added to the east side of the chapel.
The Greverath village smithy, a pretty little house in the middle of the village, was set up as a museum in 2014 and bought and lovingly renovated by the municipality of Niersbach. Today, the "Hedelischgippscha Greverath" association takes care of the facility.
