In Scottish music, the resonant myth of the Highlands, Scottish traditions, history, struggles for freedom, castles, and heroes is still conveyed to this day.

The sculpture park LAPIDEA is located in the Mayener Grubenfeld. Created by the symposium held every 3 years with international artists. Stone sculptures made of basalt, the stone quarried in the Mayener Grubenfeld, are worked there. During the symposium in the summer you can look over the shoulder of the artists as they work the stones. The unsold results of these symposiums can now be seen in the sculpture park.
