The seven districts of Baar – Büchel, Engeln, Freilingen, Mittelbaar, Niederbaar, Oberbaar and Wanderath – are charmingly embedded in the landscape of the Vordereifel with around 725 inhabitants. Characterized by the ridges and valleys of the Eifel, there are magnificent views as well as idyllic forest areas at the foot of the "Hohe Acht" not far from the Nürburgring.
Special attractions of the municipality of Langenfeld with about 670 inhabitants are the late Gothic pilgrimage chapel St. Jost, which was built around 1400, as well as the 3-tunnel visitor mine "Grube Bendisberg", which offers fantastic insights deep into the interior of the earth and brings old mining traditions to life.
