The information point/kiosk is located at the dam wall in Obermaubach and close to a hiking parking lot.
Hiking is not the only popular activity in Obermaubach; the reservoir is also a paradise for water sports enthusiasts, inviting you to paddle, row or pedal boats. Boat hire is available directly on the lake. There is also the opportunity to go fishing, as various species of fish in the reservoir attract anglers from all regions.
Since 1968, a power station at the foot of the dam has been supplying electricity to the RWE grid with an output of 600 kW.

In addition to light refreshments, you can obtain further information, hiking maps and brochures about Obermaubach and the region at the info point.

The socio-cultural center is located in the old Pleußmühle, which can be recognized by its striking brick façade and the large water wheel at August-Klotzstr. 21 (just a 5-minute walk from the city center). Located directly on the mill stream, the water wheel produces green electricity for the Düren public utility company, while the KOMM "produces" culture.
