The provosts lived from around 1100 until the looting by the French around 1800 in private houses around the church. Many canon houses from the 18th century can still be seen today in the former cathedral precinct (Herrenstraße, Stiftsstraße, Hammgasse, Münsterplatz).
Sternenpark Eifel National Park - Magical night sky
Schleiden
Open today
With its star-filled night sky, Eifel National Park is qualified as a Dark Sky Park. This large protected area obtained the significant recognition of the International Dark-Sky Association (IDA). The Eifel National Park region is one of the few locations in Germany where it is possible to see the Milky Way with the naked eye.

At a time before the turn of the century, when cement had started its triumphal march and the mining of the tram in the Brohl valley continued to decline, such proof seemed necessary.

Bollendorf
Open today
