Built in 1804, the "Alte Abtei" was the first house in Steinfeld to be built outside the monastery wall. While it was initially part of a farm, it quickly became an inn. And it has remained so to this day. From here you have a beautiful view of the towers of the basilica, which shine in the setting sun in the evening. You can relax here with a Steinfelder Klosterbier or a naturally cloudy Eifeler Landbier. Located directly on the Eifelsteig trail, the "Alte Abtei" is an ideal place to stop for a break.
