Wind orchestral music through the ages – symphonic brass music and Gulda
In the concert on Sunday, the Music Association Lüxem dedicates itself to the development of symphonic brass music. The first part features works that shape modern wind music: powerful soundscapes, narrative dramaturgy, and contemporary handwriting from composers such as Gossec, Pina, Deleruyelle, and Doss. These pieces showcase the diversity and vibrancy of wind orchestras today – ranging from symphonically driven to rhythmically pulsating.
In the second part, a special highlight follows: Moritz Reutlinger performs the cello concerto by Friedrich Gulda together with the Music Association Lüxem. The work combines classical, jazz, rock, and wind music into an unusual, energetic mix. Gulda consciously breaks with traditions, making audible how free and experimental wind music has become in the 20th century.
An evening that impressively showcases the development of wind music – from its classical foundation to modern boundary crossings.
Doors open: 4.00 p.m., start: 5.00 p.m.
