Kinderritterfest auf Burg Satzvey

Wearing chain mail, feasting at the knight's table, fighting with crossbows or swords – which child does not dream of experiencing the life of a knight up close?

Shoot with a bow and arrow, try on a knight's armor, learn about medieval craftsmanship – on May 31 and June 1, 2025, children can immerse themselves in the exciting era of the Middle Ages at Burg Satzvey and become knights, maidens, or squires themselves. The vast grounds around the historic water castle will be transformed into a world of long ago. In addition to numerous activities for children, there will be a medieval market as well as a large knight camp. The music will be provided by the minstrels of Wildwuchs.

Medieval Treasure Hunt
In various medieval disciplines, young knights can practice on this special weekend at Burg Satzvey: archery, in authentic knight armor, pulling Viking boats, making stick bread, taking part in an herb quiz, or throwing axes. The children can explore and learn during this exciting “treasure hunt,” which takes place throughout the castle grounds. Anyone who successfully completes ten stations will receive an award.

Medieval Market and Knight Camp
Numerous vendors from different medieval guilds will offer their goods at the large medieval and crafts market: furs and garments, incense and jewelry, as well as delicious foods and refreshing drinks will attract young and old alike. A stroll through the adjacent large knight camp reveals all sorts of knights who have set up their camp in the traditional manner.
