Gerold, visibly tired from the hunt, sits with his clan in a cave by the warming fire and looks forward to his mammoth steak sizzling in the embers of the fire. Down in the valley, several woolly rhinos can be seen grazing. On the distant horizon, a volcano ejects fiery lava. This is how it might have happened many thousands of years ago when the Gerolsteiner Land was roamed by the Neanderthal man.
