Indeland Triathlon

The indeland Triathlon 2026 will take place on June 21. The start is in Blausteinsee, the finish in Römerpark Aldenhoven. Popular, short and medium distances as well as relay teams are on offer. The route leads through the region's unique open-cast mining landscape.

The indeland triathlon will once again be one of the fixed sporting highlights in North Rhine-Westphalia in 2026 and is already in its 19th edition. The event will take place on June 21, 2026 and will once again combine the start in Blausteinsee in Eschweiler with the finish in the Römerpark in Aldenhoven.

Several distances will be offered again in 2026: the fun distance, short distance and middle distance as well as various relay competitions. The event is therefore aimed at ambitious competitive athletes as well as beginners and teams. The middle distance in particular, with a 1.9 km swim, 88 km bike ride and 20 km run, is regarded as the sporting highlight of the event.

The course remains typical of the indeland triathlon: the swim takes place in the Blausteinsee lake, then the bike course leads through the impressive open-cast mining landscape around Inden, before the run course leads through Aldenhoven to the finish in the Römerpark. This makes the race not only a challenging sporting event, but also a unique landscape.

An extensive supporting program is also planned again for 2026. This includes a test swim at the beginning of June, junior races ("TriKids") and organizational innovations such as timekeeping, refreshment points and a large team of helpers to support the smooth running of the event. Registration is already open and the closing date is the beginning of June 2026.

With around 2,000 participants and hundreds of helpers, the indeland triathlon remains a major sporting event with a family atmosphere and regional significance.
