Hexennacht auf Burg Satzvey

On the night of 1 May, not only traditional May customs are revived, such as the lighting of the May bonfire to drive away evil spirits, the May dance or the May leap.

The historic Satzvey Castle hosts an extraordinary Walpurgis Night celebration: With live music, witch creatures, and what is arguably the largest bonfire in the Rhineland, the Patricia Gräfin Beissel GmbH presents its legendary Witch Night. In the authentic setting of the castle grounds, lovers of ancient May traditions and fans of the Middle Ages will get their money's worth.

Guests from all over Germany, dressed as wizards and witches, celebrate the mystical witch market and the spectacular open-air concert. Three bands will heat up the audience this night: the medieval metal band InGrimm, Katerfahrt with sailor rock, and Reliquiae with driving bagpipe melodies, classical violin arrangements, and powerful guitar sounds. Afterward, the wild dance around the huge witch's fire begins.
