Plein is very centrally located, so you can make varied day trips to the Volcanic Eifel as well as to the Moselle. Via the famous Maare-Mosel cycle path you can ride along the former railroad line through impressive tunnels and over breathtaking viaducts in 20 minutes to the Säubrenner town of Wittlich with many cafes and numerous sights.
