An exhibition that provides an insight into the economic and social importance of the former home weaving cooperative in Schalkenmehren. Home weaving products over an expanse of six decades, from farm linen to "Maartuch" are shown. Demonstrations and exhibition of weaving equipment and accessories can be seen.

Until far into the 19th century millstone were carved out in the caves. But the caves also were used as natural "refrigerators". In the winter time they were equipped with ice and snow so that cooling conditions kept the cold far into the summer.
