The unique Malberg castle complex consists of the so-called New House, the Old House, the arcade building, the brewery and the chapel. The "Iron Garden" and the "Round Garden" are also part of the castle, which is situated on a mountain spur. Malberg Castle dates back to a castle mentioned as early as 1008. Nothing remains of the medieval building. The Veyder family took over the castle in 1681 and from 1708 to 1715 Matteo Alberti, an architect from Venice, had it converted into a castle in the Venetian Baroque style. The representative buildings contain stucco ceilings and wood paneling as well as tapestries and old furniture. A painted wall covering with hunting scenes is unique. You can have a civil wedding in the castle. The castle is not barrier-free. Dogs are not allowed in the castle.

The grounds and gardens of Malberg Castle can be visited from Easter to November 2nd from Sunday to Friday between 11:00 and 18:00 on the initiative of the Friends' Association.

"Iron Garden"
A beautiful French garden, the "Iron Garden" (1713/14), lies just behind the outer gate, opposite the brewery dating from 1714. Its basic layout with the fountain at the crossroads has remained unchanged since the 18th century. Originally, the "Iron Garden" at Malberg Castle served two purposes. On the one hand, it served as a recreational garden, inviting visitors to take a stroll, and on the other, it was also cultivated as a kitchen garden. Vegetables and medicinal plants were grown here.

"Round garden"
Around 1730, a garden was created in front of the new building by building a retaining wall and massive embankments. The so-called "Round Garden" is located on the south-east side of the castle grounds and directly adjoins the magnificent outdoor terrace from the same period.
