Radreise 07: Venn-Eifel-Mosel

Cycle across the Eifel on railroad lines and river cycle paths
Green oases, rugged rocky ridges, breathtaking views, refreshing rivers - the enjoyable cycle route on largely old railroad lines surprises with a varied scenic potpourri.
For over 100 years, the Vennbahn was the iron link between the coal fields near Aachen and the industrial areas in the north of Luxembourg. The former industrial connection brought prosperity and progress with its trains. Today, rails and sleepers have made way for a relaxed cycle tour through this unique landscape along the German-Belgian border.
Follow the valleys of the Sauer, Prüm, Nims, Enz, Kyll and Moselle rivers on this cycle tour through the Eifel. Along vineyards, hop fields and orchards, you can already recognize the ingredients that end up on your plate and in your glass in the evening. Delicious accompaniments are the hearty dishes from the regional cuisine such as Döppekooche, Kappes Teerdisch, Belgian fries and the natural doping water from the mineral and carbon dioxide springs of the Volcanic Eifel.
Cross national borders, explore castles and palaces, travel through original Eifel villages and historic towns.
The "Venn-Eifel-Mosel" cycle tour is signposted with its own route logo.
