Hiking Marathon—42 km on foot through the Prümer Land region.
If you’re looking for a challenge, choose the marathon route, which is about 42 km long. Passing by babbling brooks, across wide meadows, and through dense forests, this demanding route winds through the beautiful countryside of the Prümer Land. Stamina is key! Refreshment stations offering light snacks are set up along the route, allowing you to focus entirely on the Hiking Marathon.
If you’re looking for a athletic challenge but don’t want to tackle a full marathon just yet, opt for the half-marathon course (23 km). This route leads through the Mehlenbach Valley to Weinsfeld. From there, it’s not far to the first refreshment station in Watzerath, where lunch is served. Beautiful panoramic views and gentle valleys quickly make you forget the effort. The route leads back to Prüm via Steinmehlen and up to Kalvarienberg.
“We’re bringing everyone along”—the MiniMarathon is the shortest of the three routes through the Prümer Land region. The 7-kilometer hike, with stunning views of the Mehlental Valley, is the ideal hiking option for families with children and people with disabilities.
Available start times (all from the exhibition grounds in Prüm): Hiking Marathon 6:00 a.m. – 8:00 a.m., Half Marathon 9:15 a.m. – 11:30 a.m., MiniMarathon 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m.
Notes:
Participants must be at least 18 years old for the Hiking Marathon and Half Marathon
