Wilde Kräuter - Gesellen am sagenhaften Jungferweiher

Campingplatz Jungferweiher

10:00 AM

A botanical tour of one of the world's 100 most important geotopes

The Ulmener Jungferweiher was formed from a pre-glacial maar volcano and is now a popular nature reserve. The water body owes its great biodiversity of insects, amphibians and, above all, numerous migratory and breeding bird species to its wet meadows with marsh marigolds, meadowsweet and orchids, extensive reedbeds, varied willow groves along water-filled ditches and the neighbouring Weyerbusch. There is a wide range of food for the pond's animal inhabitants. I would like to familiarise guests and visitors to the Eifel with the unique environment of the Ulmener Jungferweiher pond and its diverse habitats. My focus is on the medicinal and aromatic plants that have been used for medicinal purposes for generations.
