Spaces for encounter, community, and democracyCenter for Architectural Culture and "Fascination Moselle" invite you to an evening of lectures at the synagogue in Wittlich

How can places be designed where people come together, exchange ideas, and where community emerges? And what role do buildings, public spaces, and so-called “third places” play in vibrant villages and cities? These questions are the focus of the lecture evening “Open Doors – Central Places for Cohesion and Civil Society” on Thursday, October 1, 2026, at 6.30 p.m. in the cultural and conference venue Synagogue, Himmeroder Straße 44 in Wittlich.

The event will open with a welcome talk featuring Bianca Klein, head of the Baukultur Rheinland-Pfalz office at the Ministry for Communities, Building, Housing and Culture of the State of Rheinland-Pfalz, Joachim Becker, Vice President of the Architects' Chamber Rheinland-Pfalz, as well as district executive Stefanie Kohl-Molitor from the Bernkastel-Wittlich district administration. The evening will be moderated by Simone Röhr from the regional initiative “Faszination Mosel”.

Participation is free of charge, but registration is required.

The event is organized by the Zentrum Baukultur Rheinland-Pfalz in cooperation with the Ministry for Communities, Building, Housing and Culture Rheinland-Pfalz and the regional initiative “Faszination Mosel”.
