St. Martinszug | Barweiler

Katholische Kirche St. Gertrud

11/6/26
5:30 PM

Traditional "St. Martin parade" where children and their parents walk with laterns along the streets.

The event begins at 5:30 p.m. with an atmospheric torchlight service in the parish church. Together, everyone gets in the spirit for the St. Martin’s procession—with songs, lights, and reflections. At 6:00 p.m., the St. Martin’s procession sets off from the church toward Oberdorf, led by St. Martin.
A colorful sea of lights winds its way through the streets—accompanied by music from the Hoffelder Bergmusikanten and the Barweiler Volunteer Fire Department. Passing by lovingly decorated houses with colorful lanterns, the procession heads to the St. Martin’s bonfire on the square behind the kindergarten. Here, St. Martin’s rolls are handed out to the children. The kindergarten offers cold and hot drinks as well as light snacks—a celebration for the whole family.
