Showfight course & sparring at the Niederburg Manderscheid

Experience intense showfight training at Niederburg Manderscheid – for beginners and advanced participants.

Experience an extraordinary training at the impressive Niederburg Manderscheid!

Our showfight course is aimed at everyone interested in fight choreography, stage combat, and realistically staged action – whether a beginner or an advanced participant.

In the historic setting of the castle, you will immerse yourself for an entire day in a world where acting, movement, and martial arts merge into an impressive overall experience.
The showfight course includes around 7 hours of intensive training, consisting of theoretical foundations, technical instruction, and practical exercises. Swords and gloves will be provided for all participants, so no personal equipment is required.
Throughout the training, mineral water will be available.
A small snack will be provided at lunchtime to gather new energy.
In the evening, the day concludes in a cozy setting with a castle barbecue, accompanied by a bottle of reward mead, which is of course available alcohol-free upon request.

The course price is €175.

Additionally, we offer guided sparring – ideal for those who have already gained experience or wish to move more freely in show combat.
This training lasts about 5 hours and focuses on free choreography flows, safety, timing, and collective movement. Here too, equipment, water, and a lunch snack are included.

The price for sparring is €95.

Both offerings are led by Rainer ZIPP Fränzen, an experienced showfighter, stuntman, and fight choreographer with decades of experience in stage and film combat. Rainer has the ability to convey his knowledge in an understandable, entertaining, and practical manner. He has also been a regular part of the Manderscheid Castle Festival for many years, shaping the story of the action-packed knight tournaments as a villain. The unique combination of professional training, historical atmosphere, and heartfelt hospitality makes this course an unforgettable experience.
