"Experience Germany's Wild Wolves Up Close" a multimedia presentation with Axel Gomille, Synagogue Wittlich, Saturday, 31.10.2026
What problems exist and how can a neighborhood of humans and wolves succeed? What is the true nature of wolves?
These questions are investigated by the multiple award-winning zoologist, photographer, and renowned filmmaker Axel Gomille. For many years, he has been photographing wild wolves in Germany and has come very close to them. He has worked closely with wolf researchers.
He examines old prejudices and widespread myths, addresses issues, and presents possible solutions. In 2000, there was the first wolf offspring in Germany. For the now more than 25-year anniversary, Axel Gomille presents in his multimedia lecture and the book titled “Germany's Wild Wolves” a realistic image of these fascinating animals, which are increasingly spreading in our country, with unique photos, detailed observations, and scientific facts.
Axel Gomille is a graduate biologist, photographer, and filmmaker. He studied zoology in Frankfurt and Florida and works at ZDF in the Terra X editorial team as an editor and author with a focus on wildlife, nature, and species protection. His work has taken him to many of the most beautiful nature reserves on Earth. He is particularly interested in how the coexistence of humans and wild animals can succeed in the 21st century, as wild animals are his great passion.
