Verdi's gripping musical drama, based on Shakespeare's tragedy about a ruthless couple, deals with Macbeth, who is tormented by the weight of guilt, and his ambitious wife, whose relentless thirst for power leads them both to ruin. The outstanding dramatic soprano Lise Davidsen will provide vocal highlights in her highly anticipated role debut as Lady Macbeth.
