It will be more sonically interesting and colorful than ever! Jens Düppe is back with original ideas and a new album, the fourth by his band, this time even in a quintet. Francesco Bearzatti, Italy's star saxophonist and currently one of the important driving forces in the local jazz scene, is part of the team as a long-time friend of Düppe.
Jens Düppe conceives the compositions of the new album for constantly changing formations of his award-winning fellow musicians. This creates a captivating flow of ever-new sounds and structures. Timeless music, says the press.
The band led by the Cologne drummer and WDR Jazz Award winner has been around for ten years now and has impressed from the very beginning. Already with the first album, it elicited reactions like “A leading light for modern jazz” (Midwest Record) or “best European jazz” (Jazzpodium).
In 2018, Düppe was nominated for the ECHO Jazz as "best national drummer."
