'Historical Exhibition on Postal History in Wittlich' on the 2nd floor of CASA Tony M.

In the II. upper floor of CASA Tony M., Am Marktplatz 3, 54516 Wittlich, an exhibition on postal history in Wittlich awaits you starting June 13, 2026. It has been developed in cooperation with the Philatelists' Association (www.poststempelarchiv.de). The Philatelists' Association will introduce itself on June 13, the opening day.
The guided tour dates through the exhibition with the Philatelists' Association (approximately 60 minutes) are:

On Friday, July 10, 2026, a lecture on the postal history of Wittlich will take place at 6.00 p.m. on the 1st floor of CASA Tony M., presented by the Philatelists' Association Wittlich (admission free, entry from 5.30 p.m.)

Since the 1960s, Tony Munzlinger painted his jazz images, among which are many portraits of the great world-famous jazz stars. In his works about jazz music, Munzlinger visualized the special expression of this original music and the unique character of each depicted jazz musician's playing. The result forms, so to speak, a quintessence of the music and its artists, conveying this unparalleled character in an artistic way.

In the exhibition, alongside the vibrant paintings, there are also many black-and-white drawings from the jazz series as well as a selection of sketches and drafts that Tony Munzlinger created for this purpose. Among the exhibition items are well-known jazz musicians such as Louis Armstrong, Lester Young, Miles Davis, or Billie Holliday, as well as famous locations of jazz music like New Orleans. The museum CASA Tony M., located in Wittlich at the marketplace, has been showing not only a large permanent exhibition since its opening in July 2016 but also numerous special exhibitions to honor the versatile work of Tony Munzlinger and make it accessible to a wide audience.  

The special exhibition, which is being created in cooperation with Tony Munzlinger, the foundation, and the cultural office of the city of Wittlich, will be on display at CASA Tony M. until the end of the year. On the occasion of the exhibition, a limited catalog will be released: the first one hundred copies will bear the artist's signature and will be available on the day of the exhibition opening at CASA.
