EXCURSION - Exploration of the Earth's History of the Wittlich Valley

Have you ever wondered what the Neuerburger Kopf is all about? Let yourself be surprised by what there is to tell about the geological history of the Wittlicher Tal. The geologist Eckard Oehms will lead you to the Roman era and much further into the past. In addition to the Roman villa and the sandstone cliffs at the Lieser, you will be taken to the viewpoint in Neuerburg with Cretaceous volcanic flows. During a hike, you will learn something about the Neuerburger sandstone and the tropical seas of the Devonian period. To conclude, we will go to Ürziger Höhe, where you will be rewarded with a beautiful view of the Moselle and can visit the Rotliegend volcanic rocks in the vineyard.
