Ausstellung "Mühlen im Liesertal" in Wittlich

Exhibition at the Municipal Gallery "Mühlen im Liesertal" from April 19 to October 20, 2026

The history of mills in the Liesertal is being presented for the first time in the Städtische Galerie Wittlich.
For thousands of years, mills formed the technological heart of human civilization: they tamed the forces of nature and harnessed their energy, shaped the economy and landscape of their region and were found in every settlement.
From the Rothmühle to the Schladter Mühle, selected mills in the Liesertal that were of economic and cultural relevance to the town of Wittlich and the region are presented and their development, cultural and craft history are discussed.

The exhibition is accompanied by an impressive catalog that presents the mills in the Liesertal and their history. The exhibition will be on display throughout the 2026 hiking season from April 19 to October 30. As part of the exhibition, the Wittlich Stadt & Land tourist information office, in cooperation with the cultural office, the Eifelverein OG Wittlich and Albert Klein, is offering romantic mill tours to a total of six mills in the town area on selected dates throughout the summer. Tickets for the mill tours are available from mid-April via www.ticket-regional.de.
