"Basaltkreuz" Ulmen
Ulmen
On the hike through the May and Brandenbush at experience point no. 7, you have arrived at the last point of remembrance.
Grueling thoughts have accompanied you during the hike up to this point. At kilometre 6.5, the people of Ulmen commemorate a young shepherd with a memorial stone, somewhat off the path. He was surprised by a violent thunderstorm and struck by lightning. The stone is called "the Stoffel cross", after his surname. Now say goodbye to the past and come back to the present and the beautiful nature around Ulmen. There are still about 1.2 kilometres to go, past the idyllic Jungerweiher pond back to the starting point of the hike.
