Ulmen
Experience Point No. 6 of the hike "Witches, Executioners & Knaves" takes you to another historical place of shame.
The current place name "Beim Peinloch" suggests that this location was once used for cruel punishments. A terrain map from 1810 shows a water hole here that possibly served for the so-called "divine judgments," where witches and other condemned people were supposed to prove their innocence through the "water trial." The dark stories surrounding witchcraft and brutal justice give this place a sinister aura.
From here, however, you can return to the present, enjoy Ulmen's most beautiful panorama, and walk another 3 kilometers through the stunning nature.
